Wood Use Sort Stations

Wood Use Sort Stations facilitate re-use of urban waste wood, and appropriate use for products of forest thinning and fuels reduction. Usually located at or near waste management facilities, they may also manufacture wood products using small-diameter wood, bundle firewood, and produce wood chips for landscaping or fuel. They may even use some of that wood to power their operations or heat buildings on site.
