Our Services
Applying sound principles of development The Sierra Business Council is committed to helping Sierra towns avoid being “loved to death” as they struggle with unprecedented development pressures. The SBC believes we can add value to our existing towns by protecting our historic downtowns, developing high quality walkable and interconnected neighborhoods, and protecting the open space and natural assets that provide such a high quality of life to Sierra residents. To advance this goal, the SBC published Planning for Prosperity in 1997, visionary award-winning guide to land-use planning in the Sierra. Since that time, the SBC has offered its services to promote positive models for development and documented successful approaches with other communities. We work with for clients and local communities as resource suppliers, technical assistance providers, and as full-scale partners in long-term projects.
We currently offer expertise in: - Community planning
- Collaborative process facilitation
- Sustainable business practices
