Urban Wood Waste» California Hardwood Producers Urban Wood Waste functions as a secondary wood harvest, making it one of the new “3-R’s” – Reuse, Repair, Re-cycle. Not all sawmills are prepared to do this process. Special tools, permits and techniques are used in both sourcing and re-manufacture of products from repurposed wood. According to the US Forest service, if city trees that are (already) culled each year were sawn into boards, they would supply almost 30% of annual hardwood lumber usage in the United States.
