Sustaining Rural Places Toolkit
There are many different ways to protect a place, but it is the people that bring innovation to the table. They are able to bridge gaps, bring those with seemingly competing interests together, and find new, cutting edge solutions - to save rural places.
The stories in the public radio documentary, Saving the Sierra: Grassroots Solutions for Sustaining Rural Commnities are national models for applying new tools to overcome community conflict and create collaborative solutions around land and water conservation. We all have a role to play in land use planning and stewardship. This Sustaining Rural Places Toolkit offers more information on steps you can take to sustain the land, water, and open space in your community for generations to come. Get involved by clicking on the area of interest to you below. Don't see information you are looking for? Then contact us at info@sbcouncil.org.
