Experiential Education

Experiential Education is more than a field trip. It is hands-on, feet-wet, and sometimes heart pumping –and both teachers and students say, “It works!” At the university level it can include combined research and restoration collaboration with environmental organizations, industry and government. As an outreach tool, it is effective at empowering forest visitors and residents to make informed choices about how they interact with and use forest ecosystems.

As programs sometimes link to, or even become job training programs, see also: Community & Economy: Job Training
