Many other tools exist to help visitors and locals connect with the places they treasure. Interpretive signage helps people understand the history and intricacies of a place while instilling passion for that place as well. Good interpretation helps visitors explore and understand a little more about the places they visit and in turn, adds depth to the visitor's experience. Courses relating to sense of place, such as those offered by the Northwest Earth Institute, help neighborhoods and workgroups rekindle their connections with the places they live.
