Proposal Writing

In partnership with the Town of Truckee and the California Center for Land Recycling, the Sierra Business Council developed a successful funding request for a brownfield redevelopment project on the old Truckee mill site and railyard. This infill project is the most important change to the Truckee downtown in over 30 years, opening up the opportunity to create a more vibrant downtown, promote affordable housing, generate more tax revenue for the town and provide an alternative to further expansion into natural habitat. This is an important model given that another half dozen major mills have closed up and down the Sierra.
