Nikki Streegan
Program Director Nikki’s value of sustainability for future generations has provided a backdrop for her commitment to seeking answers to many of the environmental, economic, and social issues that face our communities today. She believes that communities can come together and make the type of change that create wide ripples throughout.
Nikki brings enthusiasm and energy to the SBC staff. Nikki is a passionate worker who takes pioneering ideas and values putting them in motion. She values teamwork and proactive plans for a sustainable and better tomorrow.
Professional Experience Nikki joined the Sierra Business Council in June 2007 and brings with her a diverse background in education, marketing, and media relations. Currently she plays a supportive role for SBC Program staff while also providing outreach and communications for the organization.
Nikki worked at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort as a Marketing Assistant supporting key marketing initiatives, public relations, and event production throughout two winter seasons.
Nikki has worked for Tahoe newspapers and started her career in the Bay Area as a teacher. She taught at Sacred Heart Nativity School in San Jose, CA, an alternative middle school for at-risk boys. She continues to value education and learning throughout her unique experiences.
Education Nikki holds a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Santa Clara University, a Jesuit University in the south San Francisco Bay Area.
Personal Highlights Nikki has lived in Truckee for five years. She was brought to the region by the mountains, rivers, and the incredible recreational opportunities. She enjoys hiking and skiing with her dog, fly-fishing, and mountain biking throughout the Sierra Nevada. She loves good music and poetry. |
