Mill Re-purposing

» RBM Lumber
» Sierra Fresh Eco-Farm Fuel Source Development

Mill Re-purposing is happening in the Sierra and elsewhere, as the content and deliverability of material from the forest and the character of communities change. Either large or small, sawmills no longer used for only that purpose are nonetheless still infrastructure –land, buildings, and machinery with electricity, water, and business-use zoning in place.

Whether they are entirely re-purposed, or serve transitional uses in anticipation of continued future sawmill activities, using this existing community resource is less costly to local business, government, and communities than constructing new infrastructure.

In this section you will find sawmill sites both in transition to completely new purposes, and those that are adding additional business and community uses.
