Internship and Volunteer Program
Volunteering or Interning with Sierra Business Council enables you to develop key skills for your career, network with professionals from all over the state, and work with a reputable organization that creates positive change for the Sierra Nevada. Our opportunities seek to offer rich community benefit to a diversity of individuals looking to give back to their community or enhance a resume. Opportunities are not limited to the categories outlined below. We are interested in tailoring a position and experience to meet your needs and interests. Please be prepared to outline this tailored experience to our Volunteer and Intern Program Manager, justifying how this benefits your needs and the needs of the organization. The following opportunities are available:
Volunteer Membership and Development Event Planning Grant and Research Writing Administrative Finance and Data Entry Volunteer opportunities are distinguished from Internship opportunities based on varying levels of commitment as well as expected time in the office. Internship Geotourism Sierra Leadership Institute Sierra Nevada Energy Watch Communications and Outreach
It is our expectation that internships will be fulfilled in 3-12 month periods. Commitment can vary between 24-40 hours per week, however, because they are tailored to specific projects with SBC that are timeline and deadline driven, require a high level of consistency. Unless specified, all internships are unpaid.
