Suzie Cordero
Finance Director Suzie Cordero brings enthusiasm and love for her community. Over the thirty years she has been in the Truckee/Tahoe area, she has enjoyed mentoring youth by volunteering with local non-profit groups, participating in clean up days around the community, teaching adults English as a second language, and participating in services organizations. She readily shares a smile with those she encounters on the way to the post office and brightens up the SBC office with her positive attitude. Professional Experience
Suzie brings to SBC over 30 years of financial management experience and has a talent for meticulous accounting and audit accountability. To help maintain her snowboarding habit, Suzie also worked in ticket sales for Northstar on the weekends for many years, where she made many life-long friends and enjoyed numerous hours on the mountain. As the former Executive Director of READ (Rural Education and Development), she was able to take her passion for literacy and community development overseas and enjoyed traveling to Nepal on a number of occasions. Suzie held a real estate license for 15 years, has a background in property management and has successfully overseen the financial management of several local businesses.
Volunteer work
Suzie has enjoyed exploring a number of opportunities to get involved in the community including volunteering for the Nevada County Library Literacy program, the Adventure, Risk, Challenge (ARC) program at Sagehen, Soroptimist, Truckee River Day and Truckee Trails. Education
Suzie earned an A.S. in Real Estate with a minor in Accounting and, as a “life-long learner”, enjoys taking a variety of enrichment courses at Sierra College.
