Martini MorrisProject Assistant Martini works on all aspects of the Sierra Nevada Geotourism Project. Through the project she has learned a lot about the Sierra Nevada and the positive impacts of tourism in the region. Martini started at SBC in 2010 as an AmeriCorps member through the Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership. Martini has a passion for the outdoors and for implementing social fairness. She has experience in all aspects of grassroots organizing including campaign planning, training, event coordination and recruitment. While at university Martini coordinated the Hunger and Homelessness campaign as well as served on the board of directors for the Oregon Student Public Interest Research Group. She also interned at Search for Common Ground Indonesia working on all aspects of project development, expanding networks, planning events and compiling media. Martini holds a BA in International Studies from the University of Oregon. Martini grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia. Martini is one of six siblings and has strong family ties. She loves biking, trekking, cooking and knitting. Martini is thrilled to have the opportunity to explore the Sierra and to experience its unique local flavors. She hopes to visit all four corners of the Sierra to ski, rock climb, backpack, bike and do conservation activities. |
