Emma IngebretsenEnergy Associate Emma served as a 2009 Americorps member with SBC through the Sierra Nevada Americorps Partnership Program. Emma comes to SBC with an interdisciplinary education, varied work experience, and an enthusiasm for finding new ways to approach and address environmental, economic and social issues. Emma earned B.S. degrees in Molecular Biology and Economics from the University of Wisconson-Madison, and also received a certificate in Environmental Studies. During her final year of college she interned with the Sierra Club working on clean energy issues, primarily advocating for alternatives to coal-based energy in the Midwest. Emma has also assisted in a research lab looking at environmental antibiotic resistance, and worked as a guide leading teenage girls on wilderness canoe trips in northern Minnesota and Ontario. |
