Christina Prestella
Americorps Member Professional and Educational Experience Christina Prestella is serving with the AmeriCorp Sierra Nevada Alliance Partnership for the Sierra Business Council. Christina’s position as the Sierra Nevada Carbon Cooperative Program Assistant puts her at the forefront of exploring adaptation and mitigation to climate change. After graduating from high school, Christina earned a degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. Christina completed her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation with a focus in Biology.
Christina’s studies have brought her to many unique places and experiences. Christina worked for Chambers Group Inc., an environmental consulting firm in Reno as an Assistant Biologist. With the firm she performed threatened and endangered plant species and breeding bird surveys in Gabbs and Tonapah, NV. She also completed certification with the Desert Tortoise Council in Ridgdcrest, CA. Christina’s love for the Sierra Nevada, nature, and the outdoors led her to pursue a position in the AmeriCorp program. In the future, she hopes to be involved in field research pertaining to conservation biology.
Personal Highlights Christina was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, California. In her spare time, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, running, reading, and writing.
